Family Expectations and all our partners are working to empower and strengthen families in Oklahoma City. We know that in order for families to be successful it takes us all coming together and creating a safe and supportive network of resources.
We want to thank you for being a partner that is moving the needle in the right direction in Oklahoma City. We’ve been strengthening families for over 10 years and we couldn’t have done it without you. Our partners have referred thousands of couples to Family Expectations over the years.
Thank you for trusting us with the people you care about the most.
Your referrals are supporting our new insights in effecting couple’s education.
Because of all we’ve learned over the last decade, we’ve improved the program, and now we are testing our success again to see if Family Expectations will work even better for families in Oklahoma City. Family Expectations is in a research study that lasts until October 2018.
Everyone interested in participating in Family Expectations will be asked to participate in our research. Couples will be randomly assigned to either the program track or the study track. We will ask couples in the program track to participate in a series of classes and other Family Expectations services over 12 weeks, as well as respond to a few surveys. For the couples in the study track, we simply ask that they respond to a few surveys.
In both cases, participation is key for helping us better understand how to help new parents and their children. The reason for using random assignment in a study is to clearly see the differences a program can have on the lives of the people involved. By comparing the two tracks, researchers are able to compare how people’s attitudes, behaviors and life experiences change as a result of participating in a program.
Even when couples are assigned to the study track, they are still helping strengthen couples here in Oklahoma City as well as around the country.
We thank you again for partnering with Family Expectations. We don’t take that lightly. Let’s continue to move the needle in the positive direction together.
